Miss Ashley Meredith Laperouse and Mr. William Marc Hill Jr. of Houston, Texas, were united in the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony at St. Anne Catholic Curch in Houston on Saturday, the eighth of September at seven o’clock in the evening.
The Nuptial Mass was officiated by Reverend Leon Frank Strieder. The bride is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Thomas Laperouse of Houston, Texas. Mrs. Laperouse is the former Betty Broussard of New Iberia. The bride is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Broussard Sr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Valery Laperouse Jr. formerly of New Iberia.
Miss Laperouse is a graduate of St. Thomas More Catholic High School in Lafayette. She earned her bachelor of science degree and masters degree in Business Administration from Louisiana State University. She is currently employed as a land analyst at Red Willow Production Company in Houston, Texas.
The groom is the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. William Marc Hill of Dallas, Texas. Mrs. Hill is the former Elizabeth Susan Brogdon of Houston, Texas. The groom is the grandson of Mr. Bill Hill of Dallas, Texas, and the late Georgia Hoffman Hill and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Seldon Brogdon Jr. formerly of Houston, Texas.
Mr. Hill is a graduate of Prestonwood Christian Academy High School in Plano, Texas. He earned his bachelor of science degree in Geosystems Engineering & Hydrogeology from The University of Texas at Austin. He is currently employed as a reservoir engineer for Australis Oil & Gas in Houston, Texas.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a designer gown by Allure. The off the shoulder gown featured a sweetheart Queen Anne neckline with sheer scalloped lace throughout the fit-to-flare silhouette. The dress featured a scalloped back with silk covered buttons gracing mid-back and down the chapel train. She wore a double tiered finger veil etched with a satin ribbon edge.
The bride carried a bouquet of roses, tulips, hydrangeas, mini calla lilies and ranunculus that was adorned with a cross and rosary from the bride’s maternal and paternal grandmothers.
The bride was attended by her matron of honor Elizabeth Laperouse Gilcrease, sister of the bride. Following in procession were bridesmaids Michelle Robichaux Barnhill, Heather Knight Billeaud, Amanda Schoeffler McMath, Jordan Atkinson Nova, Monica Sooyon Yoo, Stacey Hanna Gregg and Jacqueline Marie Smith, friends of the bride. The bride’s houseparty included Katherine Day Hill, sister-in-law, and Riley Marie Lewis, future sister-in-law.
Attending as best men were James Hunter Hill and Austin Matthew Hill, brothers of the groom. Groomsmen included Bradford Thomas Laperouse, brother of the bride, Erik Robert Lichty, Michael Joseph Segoviano, Gregory Theron Blackburn, Joshua Oliver Yieh and Guillermo Marin, friends of the groom.
Ushers were Brian Manuel Gilcrease, brother-in-law of the bride, Robert Oliver Martin III, John Wilson Paterson and Kyle Anthony Patterson, friends of the groom.
Serving as lectors were Margie Scott Broussard, godmother and aunt of the bride, Bill Hill, grandfather of the groom and James Darrell Hill, uncle of the groom. Serving as Eucharistic ministers were Keith Edmond Laperouse, godfather and uncle of the bride and William Ward Rucks IV, family friend of bride. Serving as altar server was John Ruffin Samuel Cordell, godchild and cousin of the bride. Serving as gift bearers were Adrienne Laperouse Barousse, aunt of the bride, Anne Broussard Comarda, Heather Laperouse Spiezman and Natalie Tierney, cousins of the bride.
Musicians were organist and music director Tom Jaber, music assistant Andrew Salyer, conductor Andrea Jaber, trumpeter George Chase, soprano Ana Trevio-Godfrey, violinist Jonathan Godfrey and The St. Anne Choir.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at River Oaks Country Club with entertainment provided by the Drywater Band.
On the evening prior to the wedding, the groom’s parents honored their son and his bride-elect with a rehearsal dinner at Damian’s Cucina Italiana.
After a honeymoon to Fiji, the couple will reside in Houston, Texas.
