Lady Panthers win 2nd straight

The Catholic High Lady Panthers made it two straight wins and four wins in their last five matches with a 15-25, 25-9, 25-20, 25-21 over David Thibodaux STEM Thursday in a non-district contest.

Madison Bienven led CHS with 15 kills. 

Christina Viator added 12 kills and Abigail Richthofen finished with eight kills and two blocks for Catholic High School.

Oakley Guillotte also had seven kills for the Lady Panthers, who got 22 assists from Anna Angelle and 20 assists from Anna Gonsoulin.

Emma Legros had four aces and Angelle added three aces for CHS.

The Lady Panthers will play four games in the Morgan City Tournament Saturday. CHS plays Sam Houston at 9:30 a.m., then plays Houma Christian at 10:30, followed by Hahnville at 12:30 p.m. and Franklin at 1:30 p.m. 

All of Catholic High’s games in the tournament are scheduled to be played in the boys’ gym at MCHS.

CHS improved to 7-4 overall.

Franklin

MORGAN CITY — The Franklin Lady Hornets dropped a pair of matches in the Morgan City Tournament Thursday when they fell 25-9, 25-6 to Houma Christian and 25-7, 25-11 to Hahnville to drop to 2-7 on the season.

Individual results from Franklin’s two matches were not available.

Franklin returns to action in the tournament Saturday with games against Sam Houston at 11:30 a.m. and Catholic High School at 1:30 p.m.

Franklin plays both matches in the Morgan City High boys’ gym.
