SMPSO unveils new app

FRANKLIN — The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man wanted for possession of stolen items, resisting an officer and seat belt violation. 

According to a prepared statement, 20-year-old Terrell Charles of Charenton was stopped by SMPSO deputies at 2:09 p.m. Tuesday on Dinkins Road Charenton. The deputies were responding to a report of a stolen vehicle. 

After approaching Charles, the suspect fled on foot.
