A Home-going service will be held for Mr. Gerald (J.D./Champ) Livingston Sr., 86, at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at Mount Olive Baptist Church Number One in Freetown, with Rev. James Broussard, officiating.

He will await the resurrection at Mount Olive Baptist Church Cemetery Number One in Freetown.

A gathering of family and friends will begin at 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

A native and resident of New Iberia, he passed at 7:10 p.m. on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at Iberia Extended Care Hospital.

He was a former member of Olive Branch Lodge Number 37 Free and Accepted Masons. In addition, he was a bus driver for the Iberia Parish School System for 20 years. He also served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post 549. Lastly, he was employed at Abdalla’s as a delivery man for 50 years.

He leaves to cherish his memory, two sons, Gerald Livingston Jr. of New Iberia and Mark Anthony Livingston of Panama City, Florida; four daughters, Brenda Davis of New Iberia, Barbara (Carl Sr.) Parsee of Augusta, Georgia, Lindell (Michael) Batiste of New Iberia and Marguritte Livingston of New Iberia; two brothers, Nerry (Emma Dell) Livingston of New Iberia and Claude (Rhita) Wilson of Oakland, California; 12 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Yeara Dell Boutte Livingston; his parents, Willie Dudley Livingston and Elyana Broussard; and two sons, Kenneth J. “Peneboy” Davis and Billy James Livingston.

Active Pallbearers will be Carl Parsee Jr., Mack Kentory Batiste Jr., Danny Lewis Jr., Louis Darby, Mack Kentory Batiste Sr., Devarian Joseph and Ray Spann.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Nerry Livingston Sr., Michael Batiste, Mark Anthony Livingston, Mario Parsee, Claude Wilson, Carl Parsee Sr. and Gerald Livingston Jr.
