LYDIA — A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mrs. Rose Marie Prince, the former Rose Marie Derouen 59, at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 8, 2018, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, in Lydia, with Father Keith Landry, as the Celebrant.
Entombment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery Mausoleum in New Iberia.
A gathering of family and friends will begin on Monday, October 8, 2018 at 8 a.m. until 9:45
a.m. at the church with a rosary to be recited at 9 a.m., followed by tributes.
A native of Weeks Island, she passed at 2:34 p.m. on Thursday, October 4, 2018, at Houston
Methodist Hospital following a lengthy illness.
She was a devoted Catholic, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She
served as a cosmetologist for many years and was the owner of Prestigious Looks Hair Salon.
She leaves to cherish her fond memories, her loving husband, Rodney Prince of New Iberia; one daughter, Tonya Prince Hebert (George) of Houston, Texas; one son, Magic Prince (A’lyssia) of Houston, Texas; five grandsons, Braelen, Malachi, Peyton, Alex, and Maddox; four sisters, Antoinette (Charles) of Houston, Texas, Katherine (Paul) of New Iberia, Odelia of New Iberia, Linda (Wayne) of Scott; one brother, Wilfred Derouen, Jr (Beatriz) of New Iberia, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elnora Collins and Wilfred Derouen Sr; brother, James Lee; grandson, George Winston Hebert, I. and brother-in-law, Ricky Crofton.
Active Pallbearers are Raphael Fusilier, Jr, Jermaine Prince, Travis Bernard, Bobby Woodfork, Jonathan Prince, and Courtney Barrett.
Honorary Pallbearers are George Hebert, II, Paul Olivier, Wayne Bernard, Brian Olivier, Jarvis Crofton, John Tauriac Jr., and George O’Neil.
