Two local men face drug, firearm charges

These firearms, cash, drugs and drug paraphernalia were confiscated by the New Iberia Police Department after a warrant was carried out Thursday at an apartment on Mississippi Street.

Two New Iberia men were arrested Thursday on drug and firearm charges.

Christopher Broussard was charged with illegal possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm in a firearm-free zone and possession of marijuana.

Ja’Saun Pradia was charged with possession of a firearm in a firearm-free zone and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the New Iberia Police Department, officers obtained a search warrant for an apartment on Mississippi Street after receiving a tip. The search led to the recovery of three stolen guns and suspected marijuana. 

Broussard and Pradia were booked into the Iberia Parish Jail.

Police said the Investigation is continuing and more arrests are pending.
