Mario Parsee

A Home-going service will be held for Mr. Mario Sanchez Parsee, 37, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 15, 2018, at Fletcher Funeral Home with Rev. James Broussard, officiating.

Entombment will be in Saint Edward Roman Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum in New Iberia.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday at Fletcher Funeral Home 7 a.m. until time of service.

Mario Sanchez Parsee, a native of Louisiana and a resident of Augusta, Georgia, was born on June 22, 1981, at Louisiana State University Medical Center in Shreveport, to his parents Carl Parsee Sr. and Barbara Ann (Livingston) Parsee. Mario entered into rest on December 6, 2018, at his residence in Augusta, Georgia.

Mario’s primary years were spent as an “Army Brat” while overseas with his family in Germany and Japan. Mario attended Alexander M. Patch Elementary School located, at Patch Kaserne, in Stuttgart, Germany for five years. When his family’s journey continued to Camp Zama, Japan, Mario then attended Arnn Elementary School in Sagamihara, Japan. While at Camp Zama, Mario was a dinner theatre actor, who performed in August Wilson’s Joe Turner’s Come and Gone. Mario Sanchez also was an international model for DKNY in Tokyo.

Upon reassignment, Mario’s family settled in Augusta, Georgia. At this time, Mario began to attend the Richmond County School System. He attended Hephzibah Middle and High School, but Mario finished at Cross Creek High School where he received a soccer scholarship to attend Andrew College in Cuthbert, Georgia.

After attending Andrew College, Mario joined the U.S. Army to serve in Iraq Freedom with the First Calvary Division, 227th Aviation Regiment “First Attack.” At the start of the Iraq War, Mario was based at Fort Hood, Texas where he served until transitioning into civilian life, which was challenging for him.

Mario Sanchez had many passions which included his love of soccer, music and restoration of classic cars.

Mario was preceded in death by his paternal grandparent, Richard Tanner; great-grandparent, Ashlee Parsee; maternal grandparents, Gerald Livingston Sr. and Yeara Dell Boutte Livingston; two uncles Billy J. Livingston and Kenneth J. “Peneboy” Davis; great father, Norwood Boutte; and great-grandmothers, Elyana Broussard and Rosa Lewis Boutte.

Mario leaves behind to cherish his memory: his parents, Carl Parsee Sr. and Barbara Livingston Parsee; his brother Carl Parsee Jr.; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Active Pallbearers are Danny Lewis Jr., Boyzlin Turner, Danny Lewis Sr., Malik Tanner, Trisitan Lewis and Mack Batiste Sr.

Honorary Pallbearers are Carl Parsee, Ronald Tanner, Micheal Batiste, Bruce Parsee, Claude Wilson, Mark Livingston, Nerry Livingston Sr. and Gerald Livingston Jr.
