Mrs. Matthew Kevin St. Cyr

Aimée Bridget Simon and Matthew Kevin St. Cyr were united in the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony during a Nuptial Mass at St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans on Saturday, January 5, 2019. The Rev. Peter Finney III, cousin of the bride, officiated the 3 p.m. ceremony, which was concelebrated by the Rev. Steven LeBlanc.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. René Paul Simon of New Iberia. Mrs. Simon is the former Margaret Daniels of New Orleans. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Francis St. Cyr of Lititz, Pennsylvania. Mrs. St. Cyr is the former Ellen McGurn of West Springfield, Massachusetts.

The bride is a graduate of Louisiana State University and the Paul M. Hebert Law Center. She served as a corps member for Teach for America and is currently employed as a law clerk for the 16th Judicial District Court. The groom is a graduate of Cornell University and received a master’s degree in chemical engineering from North Carolina State University. He currently works for Shell Oil.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a Pearl Mikado ball gown that featured a strapless sweetheart neckline and structured bodice. The full skirt was emphasized by box pleats, while the cathedral train detailed silk covered buttons throughout its length. The bride topped her gown with an Alencon lace and tulle jacket that gave prominence to a Sabrina neckline, cap sleeves, and satin button back closure. A timeless cathedral length veil with a clean, rolled edge finished her look.

For her bouquet, the bride carried a bouquet of cascading white, ivory, and blush hydrangeas, roses, spray roses and ranunculus, with light foliage, hand tied with a silk ribbon.

The bride was attended by her maid of honor, Miss Grace Ellen Simon, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Miss Kelsey Balzli, Miss Caroline Donze, cousin of the bride, Mrs. Molly France Fernandes, cousin of the bride, Miss Courtney Peterson, Mrs. Emily France Poché, cousin of the bride, Miss Molly St. Cyr, sister of the groom, and Miss Courtney Svendson.

Serving as best man was Dr. Brian Steiner. Groomsmen were Dr. Robert DeSimone, Captain William Fry, Mr. Stephen Kerns, Mr. Ryan Kirchner, Mr. Pawan Kodandapani, Mr. James Simon, and Mr. René Paul Simon Jr, brothers of the bride.

Following the ceremony, the couple and their guests second-lined to Pat O’s on the River for their reception featuring entertainment by the Boogie Men and a live painting by Denise Hopkins.

After a honeymoon trip to Beaver Creek, Colorado the couple will reside in New Orleans.
