NIFD responds to alarm at School Days

- New Iberia Fire Department firefighters and their equipment responded to a fire at midday Monday on a second-floor apartment at the School Days Apartments in the 400 block of Center Street. The tenants were evacuated while the firefighters extinguished the fire.
The New Iberia Fire Department responded to an apartment fire shortly after noon Monday at the School Days Apartments in the 400 block of Center Street.
According to New Iberia Fire Chief Gordon Copell, all residents of the three-story structure were evacuated while firefighters put out the fire out in an apartment on the second floor of the building.
