Catherine Marie Rhine

Catherine Marie Schennette Rhine, 65, a resident of Jeanerette and a native of Weeks Island, passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2018, at 8:58 p.m. at her residence.

Visitation will be observed on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at 10 a.m. until funeral service at 1 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel, 604 Lovette Street, in Jeanerette.

Elder Clifton Tate will officiate the services.

Burial will follow funeral services in the Heavenly Rest Cemetery in Jeanerette.

Memories of Catherine will forever remain in the hearts of her one son Vontae Latae Maurice Schennette of Jeanerette; her daughter Melissa Ann Rhine-Ash of New Iberia; a life-long companion Mark Simmons of Jeanerette; one brother Raymond Chenet of Jeanerette; three sisters Doris C. Wiltz of New Iberia, Julia Mae Clay of Jeanerette and Ann Marie Chenet of Franklin; a daughter-in-law Geraldine Rhine of Four Corners; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Catherine was preceded in death by her son Berwick Rhine Jr.; her parents, Lawrence Chenet Sr. and Lillie Mae Phillips-Chenet; and four sisters Hilda M. Phillips, Gloria Brown, Susan Fusilier and Linda C. Jones; and a brother Lawrence Chenet Jr.
