Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Patrick Byrd celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, June 29, 2019. The couple celebrated with a dinner cruise down the Savannah River. The couple have two children, Gregory Byrd and his wife Andriana of Denham Springs, and Jennifer Byrd Melancon and husband Cory of Houston. They also have five grandchildren. Mrs. Byrd is the former Elizabeth (Betty) Maraist.
