Mark “Marc” Savoy 54, resident of Patouville, passed away at 5:18 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2019.
A Celebration Memorial of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 31, 2019, at Louisiana Funeral Services, 108 Hardware Road in Broussard, with Mrs. Stephanie Leleux, officiating.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m..
Mark was born on June 7, 1964, in Iberia Parish to Joseph and Mable (Derise) Savoy.
He attended and graduated from St Joseph School in Jeanerette in 1983.
His hobbies were fishing with his buddies and he loved to cut his grass. Mark couldn’t wait until football season to begin so that he could watch the Saints game with his family and friends. He loved the Saints team so much that he named his dog Saint. Mark loved his dogs Maggie Mae and Saint like they were his children. He loved and enjoyed having his great-nieces Celes and Layna come over for the weekend to roast hotdogs and have fun walking in the park. He was always the life of the party and lived his life to the fullest.
He worked at St. Mary Sugar Co-Operate for many years in maintenance and as an evaporator operater during grinding season. His last job was working for Mr. Charles at Stokes Mosquito Control for Iberia and St Mary Parish.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mable Savoy; his sister Lee Ann Savoy Rodriguez; and his brother Jimmie A Savoy.
He is survived by his brother Larry J Savoy and spouse Astrid Savoy; nephew Larry James; and niece Astrid Paloma Savoy, all from Georgia; also his sister Mary (Savoy) Camille and spouse Richard Camille; nephews Lance Savoy and spouse Tanya and Corey Camille; and great-nieces Celes and Layna Savoy, all from New Iberia.
We all want to thank Hospice for being there helping Mark during his time of need. Most important, we want to thank his caregivers Lynn and Cindy who were by his side for 24 hours a day, caring for their friend to the very end. His nephew Lance also did a lot helping his Uncle when he wasn’t working.
