On the night of April 30, deputies responded to a call about an armed robbery at the Pennywise store located in the 1500 block of Weeks Island Road. Surveillance footage revealed a light skinned black male entering the business. He approached the cashier, placed a bullet onto the counter, said “I will use it if I have to” and demanded money from the cash register and four packs of Kool cigarettes. The cashier placed an undisclosed amount of cash and several packs of Kool cigarettes into a plastic bag and handed them to the man, who fled the scene on foot towards Weeks Island Road.
