A Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 13, 2019, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Iberia for Rosemary Perero Migues, 77, who passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, in Lafayette.

Entombment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery.

Rev. Korey LaVergne will be the celebrant.

A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Pellerin Funeral Home. A Rosary, led by the Men’s Rosary Group, will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday. Visitation will continue on Monday from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.

A native of Avery Island and a longtime resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Migues was born on February 28, 1942, to the late Alva Joseph Pererp and Lourence Segura Perero. She was employed at Azalea Villa Nursing Home as an Activity Director for 27 years and she also worked at Duffy’s Diner for several years. Mrs. Migues enjoyed cooking, sewing, painting, crafting and playing cards.

Mrs. Migues was a caring and compassionate person. Her family were most important to her. She enjoyed spending time with them, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who she loved dearly.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Gerald “Jimmy” Migues of New Iberia; son Brent Migues of New Iberia; daughter Cindy Migues Trahan and husband, Dave “Pat” Trahan, of Atlanta, Georgia; brother Huey Perero and wife, Carolyn, of New Iberia; grandchildren Kaley Migues, Nikki Migues, Jason P. Trahan and wife, Jeannie and Brad Migues; great-grandchildren Kaytlyn Trahan, Tyler Trahan, Courtney Trahan, Bailey Migues, Brylee Migues, Addilyn Migues and Graham Migues.

She was preceded in death by her son Bryan Migues; father, Alva Joseph Perero; mother, Lourence Segura Perero Foreman; brothers Dennis Perero, Irving Perero, Clifton Perero and Elton “Pete” Perero; sisters Pearl Lancon and Doris Theriot.
