JEANERETTE — A Home-going celebration will be held for Mr. Ulysses “Teddy” Terrell Spencer Sr., 38, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2019, at Morning Pilgrim Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Gray, Pastor, officiating.
Interment will follow in Morning Pilgrim Baptist Church Cemetery in Jeanerette.
A gathering of family and friends will begin on Saturday at the church 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
A resident of Jeanerette, he passed at 11:10 a.m. on Sunday, May 12, 2019, at his residence.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Kinta Antoine Spencer of New Iberia; mother, Mary Ann Charles of Jeanerette; father, Ulysses Lumpkin of New Iberia; two sons, Ulysses Spencer Jr. of New Iberia and Kenjare George of New Iberia; a stepson, Kaven Antoine of New Iberia; one daughter, A’vyana Aah’liyah Smith of Lafayette; a stepdaughter, Kenicka Washington of New Iberia; two brothers, Ulysses Lumpkin Jr. of Charenton and Chris Rue of New Iberia; three sisters, Carla Spencer Butts (Deneris) of Jeanerette, Ashley Spencer (Brandon) of Jeanerette and Eumeika Dugas of New Iberia; two step-grandchildren, Kamile Gabriel and Kar’Lee Gabriel of New Iberia; two goddaughters, Shavonah Lewis of New Orleans and Keyanie Landry of Jeanerette; godfather Earl “Pat” Williams of St. Martinville; one godsister Iris Narcisse of Jeanerette; three special nieces, Latoya Marks, Alexus Spencer and Sereniti Day(his caregiver); two nephews, Hershall Lightfoot and Michael Spencer; a great-niece, Maliah Bourque; three great-nephews, Darnell Marks, Kayden Spencer and Kendrick Phillips Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Lee Spencer Jr.; maternal grandparents, Leroy and Marjorie Charles and Susanna Spencer; paternal grandparents, Manuel and Lizzy Lumpkin; and one godsister, Tomeka Marks.
Active Pallbearers are Demone Davis, Mark Colbert, Donald Colbert, Felix Richard, Brandon Jones Sr., Ronald Ward Jr. and Byron August.
Honorary Pallbearers are Johnny Sam, George Mark Jr., Wendell Marks, Carlos Lumpkin, Michael Spencer, Terry Charles, Daniel Key Jr. and Joseph Jeanlouis.
