Ruthie Mae Daniels Blanks Hamilton, 71, a resident of New Iberia passed away on April 28, 2019, at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center.

Visitation will be observed on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at Triumph Baptist Church, 1005 Iberia St., in Franklin, from 9 a.m. until funeral services at 11 a.m., with Reverend Troy L. Smith officiating the services.

Burial will follow funeral services in Sorrel Community Cemetery.

Memories of Ruthie Mae will forever remain in the hearts of her husband, Wilbert Hamilton; her children Monica Denise (Farrell) Batts, Angela Marie (Curtis) Jones, Walter (Lalita) Blanks Jr., Antoinette Lenic Blanks, Michael Wayne (Deborah) Blanks, Jermain Brown; other children to the marriage to her husband Wilbert, Melvina (Godwell) Onyemata, Sheila Hamilton, Anna Chris Hamilton, Audrey Hamilton, Carolyn Hamilton, Joseph (Elaine) Garrison and Mitchell (Roselyn) Hamilton; her siblings Betty Craig, Audrey Barkey, Denise Randle, Carol Randle, Doretha Randle, Golden Charles, Anna Burgess, Sandra Burrell, Jackie Clark, Kearney McDaniel, Hope McDaniel Broussard, Clarence Jackson and Clarence Griffin; an aunt, Louise Gray; twenty-nine grandchildren and thirty-two great-grandchildren.

Ruthie was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Henry and Alberta F. Daniels; Ethel Fine Jackson and Willie McDaniel Sr.; and her siblings, Peter Jackson Jr., Willie McDaniel Jr., Wilford McDaniel, Dorothy Milton, Mary Ann McDaniel, Ida Mae Guilbeau, Marion Williams and Willie B. Rack.
