Two Franklin Senior High School grads finish with 4.0s

FRANKLIN — A’Jaycia Nicole McCurtis and Nöel Guillotte lead a group of five honor graduates in today’s Franklin Senior High School commencement ceremony.

McCurtis, the daughter of Jason Sr. and Trivette McCurtis, finished with a 4.0 grade point average. She served as president of the National Honor Society and Future Business Leaders of America, treasurer of the student council, was the captain of the cheerleading squad and was chosen as the 208-19 FSHS Student of the Year, the 2018-19 homecoming queen and was voted Ms. Sophomore in 2015-16. McCurtis plans to attend Southern University with a major in biology and plans to shadow orthopedic surgeon Dr. Theodore Knatt, then enroll in medical school to become an orthopedic surgeon.

Guillotte, the daughter of Darren Guillotte and Tana Carson, finished with a 4.0 GPA also. She participated in Crossing Place youth group as well as the softball and volleyball teams, was secretary of the National Honor Society and participated in Future Farmers of America, Talented Art program, Student Council, 4-H and Rally Team. She plans to attend Southeastern Louisiana University to earn a bachelor of science in nursing.

Milan Haydel, daughter of Sidney Haydel and John Haydel, finished with a 3.98 GPA. She took part in Broadcasting and Rocket clubs and was a church youth leader and member of the Worship Team. Haydel plans to attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette to major in computer science and minor in film and video production.

Emyrie Ni’Shae Spain, daughter of Elizabeth Collins and Charles Spain, participated in cheerleading, FBLA, four years with the National Honor Society and was on Student Council for a year. Spain plans to attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and will major in nursing to become a pediatric nurse practitioner.

Joseph Duhon, son of Troy Duhon and Stephanie Greaux, finished with a 3.82 GPA. He played baseball for four years, was on Junior ROTC for four years and served as battalion commander, earned Eagle Scout status as a Boy Scout, was in 4-H and Junior Leaders and was a member of the National Honor Society and the Sons of American Legion. Duhon plans to join the U.S. Navy to become a nuclear propulsion specialist.
