JEANERETTE — The Jeanerette City Marshal’s Office arrested two men for attempted second degree murder and principal to attempted second degree murder Wednesday. 

Marshals responded 7 p.m. Wednesday to 1939 Church Street in response to shots fired, according to a prepared statement. Upon arrival, the officers observed a residence with several bullet holes that was occupied at the time. 

Denzel Matthews, 23, and McClellan Molo, 18, were apprehended. Matthews was arrested for attempted second degree murder and Molo was arrested for principal to attempted second degree murder. Both were taken to the Iberia Parish Jail for arraignment.
