- IPSB to salute top teachers at meeting
The Iberia Parish School Board will vote to approve the sale of two properties at tonight’s meeting.
The former sites of Lee Street Elementary and Jeanerette Primary schools are set to be sold to Dynasty Enterprises of Louisiana and Jerome Fitch Construction respectively. The former Lee Street will sell for $48,000 and the former Jeanerette Primary will sell for $29,100.
No bids came in for the former Canal Street Elementary School property, which also was up for sale.
The board also will consider proclaiming Thursday as Retired Teachers Day in Iberia Parish and take appropriate action. The agenda item will be introduced by Jimmy Broussard.
In other business, the board will vote to adopt an amendment to the Iberia Parish School Board Policy Manual that was inadvertently left out of the set of amendments that were voted on last year. The amendment has to do with dismissal of employees.
The meeting takes place at 5:30 p.m. today at the School Board administrative office.
