Drive-thru COVID testing, vaccination events set in area

The Louisiana Department of Health reports drive-thru COVID-19 testing and SleevesUp COVID vaccinations available at health units and other locations around Acadiana through Dec. 30.
The Iberia Parish Health Unit, located at 715 Weldon St. in New Iberia, will conduct drive-thru COVID testing on Wednesday from 8 a.m -2:15 p.m.
The St. Martin Parish Health Unit, at 303 W. Port St. in St. Martinville, will hold drive-thru testing Tuesday from 8 a.m.-2:15 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m.-1 p.m.
Rapid antigen and PCR testing is available at no cost. Those getting tested must wear masks. No medical evaluation is available, only testing.
An email address is required for obtaining PCR results. Those taking the Rapid Antigen test must wait on-site for their results.
Those eligible for testing must be symptomatic for COVID-19 infection (mild symptoms, no medical evaluation available); have had close contact to a known COVID-19 case; or must have been required to take a test for travel purposes.
COVID vaccinations are available at the Iberia Parish Health Unit, 715 Weldon St. in New Iberia, from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Pfizer, Moderna and J&J vaccines are available for those ages 5 years and older.
First dose, second dose and boosters are available.
People receiving their first dose will be given a $100 prepaid VISA card.
Those ages 5-17 must have a parent or legal guardian present to get the vaccine.
For booster doses, people are required to bring their COVID vaccine card.
