BLACK HISTORY MONTH EVENT — St. James Baptist Church, 4901 Guillote Road in Lydia will hold a worship service in celebration of Black History Month on Sunday at 9 a.m. Guest speaker will be Deacon Carol Bourgeois Jr. of First Church of God in Christ, who also serves as Mayor of Jeanerette. The public is invited to the service.

149TH ANNIVERSARY — Mt. Olive Baptist Church #1 Freetown, 6519 Chastant Road, invites the public to worship at its 149th church anniversary on Sunday, March 13. The service begins at 10 a.m. The church is asking for pastors, choirs, members, family and friends to join in lifting up the name of Jesus. Special guest pastor is the Rev. Allen Randle of Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church of Abbeville, Franklin and New Iberia. Mt. Olive pastor Rev. Lester Simon Jr. asks that everyone attending wear a mask in compliance with CDC COVID-19 guidelines.

CITYWIDE SONRISE SERVICE — Cornerstone Cowboy Church will be holding a CityWide Sonrise Service at New Iberia City Park on April 17. The event will feature music and worship for the whole community.
