Mary Catherine Ackal

Mary Catherine Ackal, 57, passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2022.

She was born on May 9,1964, in New Iberia to her parents Jeannette Coury Ackal and Alfred Ackal. Catherine was a graduate of Mt. Carmel Academy and Louisiana State University.

She enjoyed being a wife and spent time working in insurance sales.

Catherine had many talents including being a master gardener, a wonderful cook and was incredibly passionate about her animals, especially her golden retriever Dubkie. She was exceptionally talented working with her animals, entering dog shows and winning countless awards. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Catherine is survived by her husband Dr. James Domingue; her father Alfred Ackal; her two sisters, Elizabeth Ackal and Michelle Ackal Dabdoub (husband Alan Dabdoub); her brother Mark Ackal (wife Elizabeth Ackal); and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother Jeannette Coury Ackal; her grandparents Quinnie and John Coury and Edna; and Theophile (Toffie) Ackal.
