Rogers claims victory, Wilson sets program record at Crimson Tide Invitational

- Serenity Rogers placed first in the 100m hurdles with a time of 13.33.
LAFAYETTE – Louisiana Track and Field freshman Serenity Rogers and junior Brooklynne Wilson highlighted the performances at the Crimson Tide Invitational over the weekend at Sam Bailey Track and Field Stadium.
Rogers placed first in the 100m hurdles with a time of 13.33. Wilson jumped to the top of the school records in the hammer throw with a mark of 53.77m.
Nathan Ferguson continued the top three results with a second-place finish in the 400m hurdles (51.45). In addition, Kashie Crockett also took home silver in the men’s 200m (20.88).
Louisiana’s men’s 4x100m relay team rounded out the performances with a time of 39.91.
Six Ragin’ Cajuns placed took third in the weekend meet as Tyrenn Hannah, Kiana Foster, Obdarius Ware, Yves Cherubin, Brock Appiah and Claire Armstrong collected bronze.
Louisiana will be back in action on Friday when it travels to the Maroon and White Invitational in Starkville, Miss.
