A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, April 8, 2011, at St. Peter Catholic Church in New Iberia for Rose Mae Robicheaux Pisani, 90, who died Wednesday, April 6, 2011, in New Iberia.
Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Msgr. J. Douglas Courville will be the Celebrant. The readings will be proclaimed by Roger Pisani and Garrett Pisani. Gift Bearers include Alicia Pisani Stein, Brooke Pisani and Shelby Pisani.
Born on January 30, 1921, Mrs. Pisani enjoyed playing pokeno, solving crossword puzzles and watching soap operas on television. However, her greatest pleasure was spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed.
Survivors include her sons James L. Pisani Jr. and wife, Jacqueline, of New Iberia, Theodore J. Pisani and wife, Myra, of New Iberia, Albert J. Pisani and wife, Jacqueline “Tickie,” of New Iberia, Michael A. Pisani and wife, Denise, of Florida, Ricky C. Pisani and wife, Enide “Netsy,” of New Iberia; brothers Earl Robicheaux and wife, Barbara, of New Iberia, Harold Robicheaux and wife, Everlee, of Opelousas, Raymond Robicheaux and wife, Betty Jo, of Houma, Allen Robicheaux and wife, Nelwyn, of Houma, Jerry Robicheaux of Mississippi; sisters Lee Ida Rodriguez of Houma, Rita Ann Tanner and husband, Tommy, of Hurst, Texas; 16 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. “Bobby” Pisani Sr.; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Robicheaux Sr.; brother S.J. Robicheaux Jr.; sisters Mary Claire Robicheaux, Irene Ditiveaux; grandchildren Jarrett Pisani, Caroline Pisani; daughter-in-law Barbara Pisani.
Pallbearers include James “Marty” Pisani, Tony Pisani, Toby Pisani, Nicholas Pisani, Charles Pisani and Brad Pisani.
Honorary pallbearers will be all of Mrs. Pisani’s grandchildren.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. George Cousin and his staff, Consolata Nursing Home and staff, Delaune’s Pharmacy and staff, Vera and staff, and Virgie Marshall for the loving care that was given to Mrs. Pisani.
A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd. in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. Visitation will continue Friday from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
