- The annual Iberia Food Net donation drive is slated to take place Dec. 12.
The Iberia Parish Food Net Food Drive is slated to take place on Tuesday, Dec. 12.
A convenient drive-thru drop off location will be located at the Louisiana Sugar Cane Festival Building.
Local residents will be able to drop off donations and contributions to six non-profit organizations, who then distribute the donations through their usual outlets.
Those non-profit organizations include The Glorious Church, Mount Calvary Baptist Church, St. Francis Diner, St. Nicholas Social Concern and Solomon House Outreach.
FoodNet is part of a larger Acadiana effort put on by Catholic Charities of Lafayette to distribute food and goods to the needy during the holiday season. KLFY TV-10 has been a major promoter of the effort, which extends to several Acadiana parishes. The Iberia Food Net program is put on by Iberia On Tap.
Once at the location, volunteers will pick up donations submitted from local residents. Food Net will take place from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monetary donations are also accepted and can be mailed to 2002 Squirrel Run Dr., New Iberia, La., 70560.
