The New Iberia City Council will vote to approve an ordinance amending the budget for air conditioning repairs at the Cliff Aucoin Building at Tuesday’s council meeting.

The adoption of the ordinance will occur alongside another ordinance authorizing the purchase of a parcel of property located on Caudron Lane and authorizing the mayor to negotiate and execute any documentation in connection to the ordinance.

In other business, the council will vote to endorse the application of Baits Motel for the Restoration Tax Abatement Program.

The council will also vote to approve providing for the canvassing of the returns and declaring the results of the special election held on Nov. 8.

Additionally, the council will vote to award a contract to Southern Constructors for the Jefferson Terrace Drainate Improvements Project as well.

A resolution authorizing the mayor to negotiate and execute a Mutual Detention Agreement Contract by and between the City of New Iberia and the City of New Orleans will be discussed and voted on as well.

The meeting takes place 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at New Iberia City Hall.
