The 4-H Fashion Board met on April 11, at the Iberia Parish Library on St. Peter’s Street. These creative young women sewed some outstanding aprons with the guidance and leadership of their mentors and family. Martha Gilfoil was the 4-H representative leading the group with the help of 4-H Junior Leader, Brandy Milliman and Westgate 4-H leader, Wanda Milliman. Sewing is a dieing skill in our community and we need to bring it back. These fashionable young ladies plan to sew as often as they can because they find it very fun and rewarding. The products produced are useful and one of a kind. The time they take out of their busy lives to learn how to sew is also precious time they get to spend with their parents and grandparents. It was pretty wonderful to see the appreciation and commaradarie that these 4-Hers had for their family.
