She shared a remarkable 66-year marriage with the love of her life Lavern “L.J.” Girouard. Together they cultivated a life filled with love and hard work on their family farm. Sylvia’s dedication to their homestead extended to raising a diverse array of animals, including goats, cows, sheep, deer and even buffalo. Their farm was not only a haven for animals but also boasted a thriving peach orchard, vibrant flower gardens and bountiful vegetable plots.

Her culinary talents shone brightly during holidays, where she delighted in preparing delicious meals for her loved ones. In her moments of leisure Sylvia found joy in sewing, showcasing her creative spirit. A devout Catholic, she actively participated in her faith by teaching religion and being a proud member of the Catholic Daughters.
