The Marching Men of New Iberia turned the town, and the fountain at city hall, green once again with a parade down Main Street on Sunday.
The event, delayed by wet weather throughout the Teche Area, nevertheless attracted many with Irish heritage to celebrate the holiday.
Mayor Freddie DeCourt spoke to the gathered crowd about the event, praising those in attendance for braving the wet weather.
The Grand Marshal of the event was Jeff Boggs of KANE Radio.
Tony Pate of Kilts of Many Colors played several traditional pieces on the bagpipe, both during the fountain ceremony and at the head of the parade.
The New Iberia Optimist Club also took part in the event.
The parade concluded at Napoleon’s Bar on Main Street.
