A Stop the Violence Rally presented by Hand To Hand Combat will take place May 31st at 4 p.m. Those attending will come together to reach the youth, show their love and compassion to everyone. Dance teams, solo dancers and choirs are also invited.
The event is sponsored by Mask and Swag Outreach. The event starts at St. Edward Catholic Church at 4 p.m. Free food, drinks and also sno-balls will be served by Renny and Melinda Keal.

A Suicide Prevention Awareness Walk will take place Saturday at 10 a.m. starting at Star Pilgrim Baptist Church and ending on Corrine Street and West Pershing Street. An awareness rally will immediately follow the walk. Awareness walkers will meet at the West End Park pavilion.
Please join the community wide walk to raise awareness for suicide prevention. Organizers said one of the biggest ways to help prevent suicide is to increase awareness and de-stigmatize suicidal thoughts. For additional information, contact Rev. Felton Hogan at 337-541-3422.
