“South Louisiana Community College has a rich and storied history that reflects our dedication to providing outstanding education in the backyards of each of our parishes in Acadiana. From the 1950s to today, we have evolved into a comprehensive institution serving thousands of students annually,” SoLAcc Chancellor Vincent June, PH.D, said in a prepared statement. “Our journey, from humble beginnings to becoming a pillar of education in South Louisiana, is a testament to our dedication to student success and community vitality. SoLAcc encompasses who we are, who we’ve always been, and we’ve always been here for YOU, South Louisiana.”

The community college has faced the challenge of merging and expanding across the region, and today has more than 50 programs, 12,000 students and a footprint in eight parishes including Iberia Parish.

The rebrand comes at the end of a two-year process of research, feedback and dialogue with hundreds of stakeholders, students, alumni, faculty, donors and industry partners.

“Our new identity is a reflection of our deep commitment to the people and places of Acadiana,” says Lana Fontenot, Vice Chancellor of Institutional Advancement. “Each step in this process has been guided by invaluable feedback and support from our community. From the new logo to the vibrant colors of Acadian Blue, Heart-felt Pink and even SoLA Grown Green, everything has been reimagined and realigned to reflect who we are on the inside. SoLAcc is a place that embraces people from all walks of life and gets them to where they need to go.”
