Butterfly presentation with the Louisiana State Parks

When: Saturday, May 11 1:00 p.m.

Where: Iberia Parish Main Library

What: Louisiana State Park Ranger, Jennifer Viator, will give a presentation at the Main Library about butterflies in Louisiana and how to get them in your garden. There will also be butterfly-themed crafts and a butterfly scavenger hunt for children to enjoy after the presentation. No registration is required to attend this presentation.

Beats On The Bayou – Matthew Ewing & His All Star Band

When: Saturday, May 11, 2024 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Where: Isle of Iberia RV Resort

What: Live concert for campers under the Isle of Iberia’s pavilion. Matthew Ewing, an Opelousas native, will provide excellent music of various genres. Come out, meet friends, listen to live music and dance the evening away.

Chitimacha Canoe, Kayak And Sup Race

When: Saturday, May 11, 2024 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Where: Jeanerette City Park

What: A 10 mile race for kayaks, canoes, pirogues, and SUPs from Jeanerette to Charenton through the parishes of Iberia and St. Mary. The race begins in Jeanerette City Park and ends on the Chitimacha Reservation. Many classes of paddlecraft, everyone is welcome. Registration includes a lunch, snacks and a drink after the race, as well as a Tour du Teche T-Shirt. Registration and check-in opens at 7:30 a.m., shuttle meets at the start at 8 a.m., the race starts at 9:30 a.m.
