New Iberia– Funeral services were conducted for Darlene C. Robertson, age 75, on Friday, November 22, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Frioux-David Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kevin Rowe officiating. Inturment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m.
Darlene C. Robertson, age 75, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at Opelousas General Hospital. Darlene’s life was defined by her limitless love for her children and grandchildren and her zest for life. A lover of music and dancing, she embraced every moment with joy and passion. Her laughter and vibrant spirit touched everyone she met, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.
A dedicated Registered Nurse with a Master’s Degree, Darlene embodied the true essence of a caregiver. Her compassion knew no boundaries, as she devoted her life to serving others with grace and empathy. A devout Christian, she loved the Lord with her whole heart and followed His teachings closely, inspiring all with her unwavering faith and selfless spirit. Darlene’s legacy of love, kindness, and faith will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
Darlene is survived by her two sons, Robert J. Murrell (Rhonda) of Deer Park, Tx., Jesse Murrell (Shirley) of La Porte, Tx.; grandchildren, Brandon Weaver (Roselyn), Destiny Weaver, Emily Murrell, Leslie Murrel (Megan); great grandchildren, Landon, Camilla, Breaden, Liam, Addie, Lincoln; siblings, Helena Roberson, and Donald Robertson.
She was preceded in death by one son, Leslie Murrell; parents, James O., and Doris Boudreaux Robertson; siblings, Jimmy Robertson, Jody Robertson, Chuck Robertson, Penny Steno.
Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Jesse Murrell, Robert Murrell, Donald Robertson, and Leslie Murrell, Bradon Weaver, and Cameron Steno.
