According to reports filed by the candidates, Freyou raked in $91,055 in contributions, giving the current parish president a financial advantage when compared to the $26,135 raised by Freddie DeCourt and $18,748 received by Romo Romero.
Between January and the first week of September, Freyou spent $62,910 in his bid for reelection. Of those expenses, $49,959 was used for advertising, including newspaper, billboard and football program ads, along with yard signs, T-shirts and bumper stickers.
As of Sept. 12, Freyou has $35,098 remaining in his campaign coffers to use until election day on Oct. 22.
Following Freyou is DeCourt, who raised $26,135 in contributions, which was buffered by loans amounting to $17,337, giving him $43,972 to spend on his bid for Iberia Parish president.
Since January, DeCourt has used $35,610 of his campaign funds, leaving him with $19,360 to last until election day.
Like Freyou, advertising took up the majority of DeCourt’s expenses, totaling $19,322 spent on signs, buttons, shirts and billboard and newspaper ads.

CAMPAIN FINANCE REPORT
The following are campaign contributions of more than $500 for candidates in the race for Iberia Parish president:
The Daily Iberian reported some entries incorrectly by adding numbers in the “Total this Election” column in the contributions section of the campaign finace report. The numbers have been corrected, which caused some of those listed to be below the $500 mark. We have left those in the listing so that the accurate amount could be published. The Daily Iberian regrets and apologizes for the error.
