Meet the candidates

I am a lifelong resident of Iberia Parish. I was appointed as Parish Administrator for the Iberia Parish Police Jury and served from 1963 to 1983. Before that, I was an accountant for Roland Breaux, and also a comptroller for American Discount Corporation. In 1983, I went to New Iberia National Bank and ultimately retired from Regions Bank in 2005. I joined the Louisiana National Guard in 1957, the Army Reserve in 1970 and retired in 1990 as a full colonel with 33 years of service. I have been conservative my entire life, and became a Republican in 1994. I am 72, married and have five children and 18 grandchildren.
Q. Why should you be the next parish president?
A. I believe I’m the most qualified candidate to keep Iberia Parish moving forward. I have a unique resume with nearly 20 years of service as parish administrator and almost 30 years of private sector work experience. I’ve only run for political office once, for parish president in 2007. I’m not a career politician: I’m doing this to try to make Iberia Parish a better place for all of us.
