Cassandra Marie Allen and Troy Javan Nicholas were married Saturday, April 28, 2012, at Zion Hill Christian Fellowship. The bride is the daughter of Gloria Allen of Houston and Warren J. Smothers of Houston. She is the stepdaughter of Evelyn Smothers. The groom is the son of Sheila Smith and Willis Anderson of New Iberia.

The Rev. Darren M. Sophus Sr. officiated at the ceremony.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory-colored taffeta ball gown featuring a pleated bodice and skirt with 3-D floral appliqués.

For her headpiece, she wore a cathedral veil with a beaded metallic edge and a tiara embellished with pearls and marquis crystals.

She carried a bouquet of silk champagne, ivory- and chocolate-colored roses and rosebuds accented with miniature green apples, apple blossoms and berries.

Serving as maid of honor was Lynnette Smothers. Matrons of honor were Shwanna Jenkins, Charlotte Jack and Kim Provost. Bridesmaids were Agnes Phillips, Janaé Allen, Mia Jackson, Breá Brooks, Brenda White, Lashon Allen, Vashon Archon, Lesley O’Neal, Kema Anderson, Daphne Robinson, Nicole Walker, Bianca Boutte, Connie Island, Makeyta Anderson, Tina Joseph and Courtney Gaspard. Junior bridesmaids were Rhanee Nicholas, Lacaisha Smothers and Brailee Rubin.

Flower girls were A’Niaya Meaux and Gabriel Boudreaux. Ring bearer was Dylan Jackson.

Best men were Tyler Jackson, Otis Anderson, Thalamus Gardner and Leroy Joseph Jr.

Groomsmen were Quintin Smothers, Larry Allen, Quincy Joseph, Jamie Nicholas, Murray Beniot, Kawaun Anderson, Anthony Hypolite, Mose Gaddison, Marcus Sophus, Daytranell Tate, Joseph Hillard, Corey Hill, James Spencer, Marlon Gonsoulin, Jermaine Gregoire and Troy Smith.

Junior groomsmen were Kavyon Harris, De’Andra Johnson and Quincy Joseph Jr.

Miniature bride was Karrington Celestine and miniature groom was Davian Jackson.

Ushers were Ulysses Allen and Donald Davis.

A reception for family and friends was held at City Park gymnasium.

Following a wedding trip to Atlanta, the couple will reside in New Iberia.
