Rynella – Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia for Ginger Girouard Jester, 59, who passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024.
Rev. Keith Landry will officiate.
Private entombment will be at a later date.
Visitation will be at Pellerin Funeral Home from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday and will resume on Saturday from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm.
A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 pm Friday.
A native and resident of New Iberia, Ginger Girouard Jester was born on June 21, 1965, to the late Sostene Earnest Girouard Jr. and Dorena Buteaux Girouard. She was a vibrant soul who radiated warmth and joy, infusing every aspect of her life with a passion for the outdoors and a love for her family.
An avid outdoor enthusiast, Ginger found her true peace in nature. Whether she was working in her yard or embarking on a camping adventure, there was magic in her connection to the earth. To her, the rustling of leaves and the gentle caress of the wind were comforting reminders of life’s simple pleasures.
Ginger had an adventurous spirit. She loved traveling, and weekends found her happily immersed in the joyous ritual of crawfish boils, sharing laughter and stories with family and friends. Her enthusiasm was infectious, especially when it came to cheering on her beloved New Orleans Saints, a tradition that brought her immense happiness and camaraderie.
Her family meant the world to her, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Ginger had the remarkable ability to create memories that would be treasured forever.
Ginger is survived by her husband, James P. “Jay” Jester Jr.; daughter, Jada Michelle Jester; godchild, Ashley Franks (Cody) and their children, Bentley, Caroline, and Holland; siblings, Sandra Girouard Babineaux (Gerald), Toni Girouard, Ethel Girouard, Kinta “Kitty” Doiron, and Troy Girouard; sister-in-law, Portia Fortier (Billy); brother-in-law, Robert Jester; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Randall Girouard; mother-in-law, Frankie Jester LeBlanc; father-in-law, James P. Jester Sr., brother-in-law, Cliff Doiron, Jr.
and step-father-in-law, Nellan LeBlanc.
Ginger leaves behind a rich legacy of love, laughter, and adventure. Her light will forever shine in the hearts of her family and friends. May she rest in peace.
