A Home Going Celebration will be held for Minister Kenneth “Kenny” Tyrone Roman 48 at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 8, 2012, at First United Methodist Church, New Iberia, with the Rev. Scott Bullock, pastor, and the  Rev. Herbert E. Green Sr. officiating.

He will await the resurrection at Heavenly Rest Cemetery, Jeanerette.

A gathering of family and friends will be on Friday for a Musical at Fletcher Funeral Home, 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. Visitation will begin on Saturday at the funeral home 7 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

A native of Galveston, Texas, and resident of Jeanerette, he passed at 3:08 a.m. on Sunday, September 2, 2012, at Lafayette General Medical Center.

Kenny was a member of Christ Praise and Worship Center. He served as musician at surrounding churches in Iberia and St. Mary parishes. He was a 1982 graduate of Jeanerette Senior High School.

He leaves to cherish his memory and in God’s care his parents, Pastor Willie Roman Jr. and Mrs. Barbara J. Roman, of Jeanerette; three brothers Jeffrey Roman (Cherise) of Franklin, James Roman (Christine) and Darius Roman (Shequilla) of Atlanta; one sister Julia Sinegal (Herbert) of Carencro; a play sister Kimberly Shields of Jeanerette; and two special friends Lakeisha Harding and Glenda Grimm of Lafayette; his godchildren Amber Martin and Darian Alexander; godmother Lucille Bradley of New Iberia; a step-grandmother Gloria Johnson of New Iberia; mentors Mrs. Anna F. Minor and Mrs. Evelyn Jones of Jeanerette; and a host of nieces, nephews, many aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.

He now joins in glory with his maternal grandmother, Annie Mae Landor Johnson; maternal grandfather, John C. Johnson; paternal grandmother, Arthine Tillman Roman; and paternal grandfather, Willie Roman Sr.

Active pallbearers will be the Rev. Edward Williams, Mr. Kendall Spiller, Bro. Joseph Boutte, Bro. Louis Lancon, Mr. Reginal Vicks, Bro. Lawrence Williams, and Mr. Oris Boutte.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Rev. Scott Bullock, the Rev. Ananais Bourgeois, the Rev. James Broussard, the Rev. Jules Anderson, the Rev. Charles Jolivette, the Rev. Relondo Bradley, Mr. Paul Fontenot, Mr. Craig Roman, Mr. Eldridge Roman, Mr. Bud Lee, Mr. James T. K. Alexander, Mr. Willie Shields, Bro. Jeffrey Roman, Bro. James Roman and Bro. Darius Roman.
