The third Loreauville 4-H Club meeting was held on Monday, Nov. 12, 2012. Thirty-nine members signed in. Alix Migues led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance and the 4-H Pledge was led by Caitlin Migues.

Clay Chambers gave the Community Service report. He asked the club to collect soda tabs for the Ronald McDonald House that helps parents with sick children. There was a Weigh-In contest to guess the weight of all the tabs our club has collected. We turned in 8.5 pounds of tabs to the Iberia Parish 4-H Office.

Mrs. Sheri Patout, our 4-H Leader, handed out prizes and treats to those winning the Tractor Safety Art Contest. Winners are: Emma Chambers, Kyle Mestayer, Noah Louivere, Kaylie Judice, Jacob Breaux, Makenzie Provost, Sydney Breaux, Dylan Blanchard and Kate Landry.

Alix Migues demonstrated to the club how to set a formal place setting for the dinner table using crystal and china dishware. Jada Dorsey and Caitlin Migues made a “Thanksgiving Delight” dessert called Watergate Salad. All members got to sample this delicious dish.

Mrs. Mindy Hotard, Iberia Parish County Agent, introduced all upcoming events like the Fall Fun Day and Journey Into Jobs. All members could enter the Beef, Rice and Seafood Cookery Contest and the Bicycle Rodeo. She announced the dates to pick up the one-day-old Broiler Chickens that would arrive at the parish office. The club adjourned with handing out the November Clover Chatter.
