Leetha Mae Brooks

Mrs. Leetha Mae Brooks, 92, a native of Lafayette and a resident of New Iberia, died on Monday, March 25, 2013, at Belle Teche Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in New Iberia.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at Journet & Bolden Funeral Home, 711 S. Corinne Street in New Iberia at 11 a.m., with visitation to begin at 7:30 a.m. at the funeral home until time of services. Internment will be at St. Matthew’s Cemetery in New Iberia. The Rev. James Broussard will officiate the services.

Mrs. Brooks is survived by one son Wilbert Brooks of Houston; one daughter Dorothy (Clement) Landry of New Iberia; one brother Paul (Shirley) Joseph of Beaumont, Texas; two sisters Serella Adams of New Iberia and Leola Haywood of Houston; one son-in-law Sidney Lee; two daughters-in-law Eula W. Brooks and Eula G. Brooks; 15 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; and 35 great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Brooks was preceded in death by her parents, Levy Joseph and Daisy Henry Joseph; husband, Wilson Brooks; two sons Lionel Brooks and Clyde Brooks; one daughter Deloris Lee; one brother Warren Joseph; three sisters Marjorie Garrette, Genevia Raymond and Willie V. Joseph; and one grandson Terry Lee. 

Pallbearers will be friends and family.
