St. Martinville graduation has three valedictorians

ST. MARTINVILLE — St. Martinville Senior High School will award diplomas to 147 graduates Friday night with three valedictorians and two salutatorians leading the class.
Alanna Allen, daughter of Wayne and Sarah Allen, will be one of three valedictorians graduating with a 4.0 GPA. Allen will attend Xavier University where she plans to major in pharmacy.

Allen was active in Beta Club, Student Council, A-Team and SAVE.
Courtney Ann Poirier, daughter of Barry and Erica Poirier and another valedictorian, will graduate with a 4.0 GPA. Poirier will attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where she plans to major in environmental science with a concentration in wildlife management.
While in high school, Poirier served as the secretary and president of the 4-H Club, junior leaders reporter for the 4-H Club, secretary and president of YACA and a junior/senior mentor. She also participated in Key Club, Beta Club, Student Council, Gifted Art and played volleyball for two years and softball for three years.
Jenney Vongprathoum, daughter of Tomson and Shelly Vongprathoum and third valedictorian, will graduate with a 4.0 GPA. Vongprathoum will attend Louisiana State University, where she plans to major in biochemistry.
Vongprathoum was president of the Academic Decathlon, captain of the Quiz Bowl team, president of the Student Council and treasurer of Interact. She also participated in Beta Club, Key Club, FBLA, PBIS Club and Science Club.
Salutatorian Brooke Capritto, daughter of James and Deana Capritto, will graduate with a 3.96 GPA and will attend ULL, where she plans to major in dietetics.

Capritto was active in FBLA, Student Council and Key Club.
Elizabeth Theriot, daughter of Matthew and Melanie Theriot and second salutatorian, will graduate with a 3.96 GPA and will attend ULL, where she plans to major in computer science.
While in high school Theriot was program chairman for the 4-H Club, secretary of Student Council, secretary of Interact and a participant in the Academic Decathlon.
