RICHMOND, Ind. — Malcolm Leon Michaels Jr., 64, formerly of Richmond, Ind., died Sunday, August 11, 2013, at his home.

He was born May 17, 1949, in Lynn, Ind., to Malcolm L. “Mac” and Alice N. Thomas Michaels Sr. Leon was a 1967 graduate of Richmond High School. He was a licensed inhalation therapist. Leon worked in the oil fields for many years, most recently as an oil field consultant. He enjoyed reading, spending time with his friends and family and being the “caregiver” of the family.  

Survivors include his father, Mac (Phyllis) Michaels of Richmond, Ind.; sisters Lavonne (Jim) Hardwick of Camden, Ohio, and Teresa (Steve) Hardwick of New Paris, Ohio; brothers Jon (Charmaign) Michaels of Richmond, Ind., and Jeff (Marcy) Michaels Sr. of Batesville, Miss.; eight nieces and nephews; many great-nieces and great-nephews; aunts; uncles; cousins; and many friends, including his good friend Paul in Louisiana.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice N. Thomas McGrew.

Visitation for Malcolm Leon Michaels Jr. will be from noon to 2 p.m. Friday, August 16, 2013, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond, Ind. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, August 16, 2013, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home. Burial will be in Goshen Cemetery.
