Elizabeth Karen Sonnier died on 7/6/24 at Santa Clara Kaiser Hospital at age 70, after a long illness with her daughter & son-in-law at her side.
A Celebration of Her Life will be held at the Delcambre Shrimp Festival Building on 10/20/24 from 3-7 pm.
Elizabeth was a native of Delcambre, LA who moved to California in the 80’s.
She was a graduate of USL, LSU, San Jose State University and Fordham University. She held masters degrees in Library/Information Science and Philosophy. She received her PhD in Philosophy from Fordham University (NY). She taught Philosophy at San Jose State University for over 20 years. She was passionate about teaching ethics to computer science students in Silicon Valley, helping shape the minds of future tech leaders.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eluse Sonnier & Alice “Blonde” Sonnier, and her brother Samuel Sonnier.
She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth Dalbianco and Son-In-Law Ronnie Dalbianco of Hayward, CA. She is also survived by her brothers Stifford Sonnier & his wife Beryl, and Tedray Sonnier & his wife Peggy.
She was a devoted and loving aunt to Candy Sonnier, Stephanie Stubblefield, James Sonnier, Casey Sonnier, Lance Sonnier, Scotty Sonnier, Paula Dugas, Crystal Pontiff, Alan Monk. John Monk, Lee Monk, Mandy Vincent, Daleene Vincent, Darla Comeaux and Brent Belanger.
