The Hebert Association is holding a gathering of Heberts for anyone interested in the history or genealogy of the Hebert name or anyone interested in Acadian history. The gathering will be held at the Abbeville library at 405 E. St. Victor Street in Abbeville from 9 a.m to 4 p.m. March 29. Lunch will be served and is free to Hebert Association members and $5 for non-members. The program will consist of author Warren Perrin speaking on the proclamation by the Queen of England in regards to the deportation of the Acadians and his latest book. The program will also include information on DNA testing for ancestry purposes, as well as a presentation on the Acadian Odyssey of Hebert ancestors deported to France. We will also have posters on our Acadian ancestors, information on CMA 2014 and the opportunity to find your ancestors in our extensive database. For more information or to RSVP call John or Kathy at 225-622-4412 or emailkathyh@eatel.net.
