NEW ORLEANS — A Home-Going Celebration will be held for Herman Beasley Jr., 72, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2014, at Calvary Tabernacle AME Church, 3629 Dryades Street, New Orleans, with Pastor Germaine Hampton officiating. He will await the resurrection at Providence Memorial Park, New Orleans.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday at the church 8 a.m. until the time of service.

A native and resident of New Orleans, he passed at 5:55 a.m. on February 26, 2014, at The Sanctuary of Passages Hospice in New Orleans.

Herman Beasley, also known by family and friends as “Mice,” was born on April 18, 1941, to the late Rosetta Johnson and Herman Beasley Sr. in New Orleans. A lifelong resident of his beloved city, New Orleans, Herman attended Booker T. Washington Senior High School where he graduated in 1959.

Herman leaves to cherish his memories his daughters Shneitha Beasley, Wanda Beasley-Hudson, Tshawn Banks (Gregory) and Jacquelyn Nettles; sons Alonzo Beasley (Aundrea) and Cornelius J. Beasley (Antwanette); sisters Jacqueline Fuller, Claudette Beasley, Corliss Beasley Johnson and Allyson Beasley; and brother Warren Rudolph Beasley Sr. He leaves to mourn 17 grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Beasley Sr. and Rosetta Johnson; brother Harry (Jack) Beasley; and one son-in-law Jesse Hudson.
