Elaine Landry of Jeanerette was recognized as Outstanding Member of Entre Nous Club at the club’s May meeting.

Entre Nous is a Jeanerette civic club with its main mission to work to foster literacy, civic and cultural advancement among its members and the community.

“Everyone in Entre Nous works so very hard to ensure that the club stays alive and all strive to make our community a better place. So for the members to think that I deserve this honor was a very moving experience,” said Landry.

Officers for 2014-2015 were elected. Newly elected officers are Tia Simmons, president; Judy Lapeyrouse, first vice president; Lucy Bishop, second vice president; Janice Mckash, treasurer; Stephanie Martin, recording secretary; Virginia Viator, corresponding secretary; Elaine Landry, reporter; Lucy Bishop, custodian and Ellen Switzer, parliamentary referee.

Roses were presented for anniversaries of membership to Judy Lapeyrouse, five years; Lucy Bishop, 10 years; Annette Stansbury, 10 years and Julie Fangue 10 years.
