Nighty Night Circus®
brbr
This sweet sleepytime app is a wonderful addition to a child’s bedtime routine. With gorgeous animation, lullabies and narration, your little one will find himself or herself surrounded by eight circus animals (lion, rabbit, snake, owl, bear, fleas, elephant and seal), all of which perform a trick before it’s time to go to sleep. Watch the snake juggle three balls on his tail or the elephant stand on one leg, then turn out the lights or blow out candles before it’s time for the animals – and your child – to go to sleep. Cost: $2.99.
Jack and the Beanstalk®

This interactive app by Nosy Crow (include this in your search in the app store as there are many apps designed around the story) combines the classic story with the qualities of a game. Users find themselves in different rooms of the giant’s castle, and each success allows them to unlock a new portion of the story. The traditional story changes each time your little one plays the game based on when the giant “wakes up” and how Jack progresses through the castle. The fully animated app emphasizes reading skills with word highlighting and narration from 13 characters. Cost: $4.99.
