DELCAMBRE — A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Anthony “Tony” Breaux, 88, at 11 a.m. Monday, February 16, 2015, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Fr. Nathan Comeaux will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in Our Lady of the Lake Mausoleum, with Military Honors rendered by the United States Navy.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home of Delcambre on Sunday from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m., with the Rosary at 6:30 p.m. Visiting hours will resume on Monday from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
Anthony was born January 1, 1927, in Vermilion Parish to the late Fergust and Francis Campisi Breaux and passed away Friday, February 13, 2015, at Jennings American Legion Hospital with his family at his side.
“Tony,” as he was known by family and friends, was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and served his country during World War II. He retired from Jefferson Island Salt Mine. Tony loved tending to his cattle, and the many other animals he raised on his property. He was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend and will be missed dearly.
Survivors include his son Michael A. Breaux and wife, Lizette, of Delcambre; his daughters Marilyn Breaux Boudreaux and husband, H.J.“Dago” Boudreaux, of Nunez and Brenda Breaux Delcambre and husband, Dale, of Kaplan; nine grandchildren Kade Michael Breaux, Kody James Breaux, Karson Jude Breaux, Amy B. Scelfo (Kenny), Rachel Boudreaux, Joshua Boudreaux, Bryan Delcambre (Doriska), Jacob Delcambre (Christy) and Jessica Walls (Michael); and nine great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Josie Moody Breaux; and his brothers Samuel Breaux and Joseph Breaux.
Pallbearers will be Mike, Kade, Kody and Karson Breaux, Jacob Delcambre and Gene Prince.
