Susan Ann Thibodeaux Taylor

Funeral services will be held for Mrs. Glenn Taylor, the former Susan Ann Thibodeaux, 68, on Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at 10 a.m. at the David Funeral Home Chapel, with the Reverend Johnny Ward to serve as the celebrant. Interment will follow at Beau Pre Memorial Park.

Visitation will begin on Monday, November 23, 2015, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and resume the next morning beginning at 8 a.m. until service time.

A native of Weeks Island and resident of New Iberia, “Sue,” as she was affectionately known, passed away on Friday, November 20, 2015, at 3:48 a.m. at her residence. Mrs. Taylor enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, cooking and camping, but her love was sewing. She was a master with a needle in her hands. She also quilted, embroidered and excelled in needlepoint. She would make clothes for many of her grandchildren whom she adored. She was a woman of faith and always took comfort in her favorite scripture verse, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Glenn Taylor, of New Iberia; mother, Gertrude Landry Thibodeaux, of Jeanerette; daughter Jennifer Taylor Gayle and husband, Robert, of Clinton; son Jeffrey Taylor and wife, Katie, of New Iberia; three stepsons Joel Taylor and wife, Paula, of Franklin, Sherman Taylor and wife, Debbie, of New Iberia, Jonathan Taylor and wife, Cassie, of New Iberia; two brothers Clyde and Lonnie Thibodeaux, both of New Iberia; sister Melissa Spooner of Breaux Bridge; 16 grandchildren Seth Taylor of Fort Worth, Texas, Zach Taylor of San Francisco, Ian Taylor of Youngsville, Evan Taylor of Lafayette, Ellen Taylor of Lafayette, Justin Taylor of Fort Worth, Texas, Matthew Taylor of St. Martinville, Emily Taylor, Collin Taylor, Samantha Taylor, Gabe Taylor, Daniel Taylor and Mason Taylor, all of New Iberia, Kyle Gayle, Ryan Gayle and Audrey Gayle, all of Clinton; and six great-grandchildren Ella Taylor, Sean Taylor and Owen Taylor, all of Fort Worth, Texas, Liam Taylor and Breckin Taylor of Youngsville and Jaden Taylor of St. Martinville.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Thibodeaux.

Upholding the honor of pallbearers are Ian, Evan, Justin, Matthew, Collin Taylor and Robert Gayle.

Honorary pallbearers will be Lonnie Thibodeaux and Clyde Thibodeaux.
