Most notably, Grisaffe was the first woman elected to the Iberia Parish Council in the 1980s.

“I’m proud to say I was the woman elected to the council,” she said. “That’s important.

“I enjoy it. I like meeting different people and I don’t work anymore,” she said. “I figured it would be a good thing to do and I have some things I want to bring to the council if I’m elected.”   Grisaffe has been walking the district during campaign season, and said there is “a bundle” of issues she would like to bring.

The two other candidates for the District 3 seat are David Broussard and Paul Camacho.

 Election day is Nov. 8.
